Overview
First Aid for Pre-School
Children is a 12 hour training course especially designed for carers of
young children in any environment. It is specifically relevant for
pre-school and nursery staff, parents and play leaders.
The course meets the
requirements of OFSTED and the HSE recommendations for Appointed Person
and can be linked to NVQ units.
Topics Covered
This course is highly
participative and delegates will cover a range of suitable first aid

Objectives
By the end of the course the delegate will have covered how to:

Give emergency First Aid to an injured person until medical
assistance arrives

Recognise and appropriately treat most emergency situations

Carry out the duties of an Appointed Person as specified within
the First Aid Regulations.
Assessment
There is no formal assessment.
Successful completion of the course qualifies the holder to act as
an 'Appointed Person' in the workplace. The certificate is valid for three
years from the date of issue.
